Bible Bee
News & Events - News & Events

Trinity has been named an official regional Bible Bee testing site. The event will be held on August 25th.

23 volunteers have indicated their interest in helping on the day of the test, but MORE are needed.

Some assignments require computer skills and others involve serving snacks and a simple lunch for the families. Volunteer now and you can choose your assignment of interest.

Monetary donations are also needed to help with the expenses and food for the families. Please make your check out to Trinity UMC, mark it "Bible Bee" and put it in the offering plate.

Contact Henry Hall at 842-5075 to volunteer.

Southport-Oak Island Interchurch Fellowship (ICF)

The ICF began in 1994 and is a non-profit, voluntary gathering of representatives of congregations in the Southport-Oak Island area. The purpose of ICF includes offering a united witness of Christ by working together in this community; building bridges among denominations and peoples; and meeting short-term human needs in the area. ICF supports the Food Pantry, an Emergency Human Needs Funds and coordinates Sunday morning worship services at Ocean Trail Convalescent Center and Dosher Nursing Home. ICF also sponsors the Martin Luther King, Jr celebration including revival services during that week, services throughout the community during Lent and CROP Walk. Trinity has been a member of the ICF for many years and a number of our members participate in the various activities. For example, each year we provide Sunday services to Dosher Nursing Home and host a Lenten service one of the monthly meetings which include lunch. Our church used to be the site of the Food Pantry and now we have a collection for food which is taken to the BSL site for distribution. ICF member churches are asked to give an amount each year to help with the administrative overhead and expenses ($15.00 for postage plus 50 cents per family giving unit). Churches are encouraged to give additional donations to support the Food Pantry and the Human Needs Fund. Becky Felton and Musette Steck are currently serving as Trinity’s representatives to the Southport-Oak Island Interchurch Fellowship.
